Powering our Community Together: Clean Power, Local Choice.

VCE has updated its strategic plan for 2026–2029, which serves as the roadmap for bringing cleaner, more reliable power to the communities of Davis, Woodland, Winters, and unincorporated Yolo County. At its core, VCE’s mission is simple: to give local communities control over their energy choices, provide clean electricity, and keep rates affordable. While PG&E still handles the power lines and billing, VCE is responsible for choosing the source of your electricity. Our new Strategic Plan doubles down on this commitment with several key goals.

  1. Financially, VCE will focus on keeping rates competitive while remaining financially strong.
  2. When it comes to power, VCE is pushing to be 100% carbon-free by 2030, which is an ambitious goal for our region. This involves finding new, local clean energy sources and working to make the entire power grid more reliable.
  3. Finally, VCE is committed to being an active community partner, working with residents—especially those who have been underserved—to increase awareness of our programs and support local projects that help our communities transition toward cleaner energy.

By focusing on local control and cleaner, lower-cost sources, VCE is not just delivering electricity; it’s building a more resilient, healthier, and financially stable future right here in Yolo County.
